The Oil and Gas Industry Museum Ignacy Łukasiewicz in Bóbrka is located in the area of the oil mine, which is still active today. You can see oil in its natural state, see what the nineteenth century oil wells (kopanki) looked like, and stroll through beautiful alleys in the woods. Bóbrka was the first oil mine in the world (established in 1854 on the initiative of Tytus Trzecielski and Ignacy Łukaszewicz). The museum has numerous exhibits, related to, among others with geology, oil mining, refining and petrochemical industry, or natural gas industry.
