Address: ul. Jana III Sobieskiego 4 , 37-600 Lubaczów

The museum was founded on the initiative of Włodzimierz Czernecki - a local educator and social worker. Already before World War II, he began collecting exhibits (he lost a lot during the war). His activities led to the rubbing of the Social Regional Museum in 1958, which was located in the high school building. In 1961, the collection was moved to a tenement house at ul. Mickiewicz. In view of the difficulties associated with the functioning of the institution, in 1965 it was decided to transfer the museum under the management of the Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society, which took over the institution in 1967. Until 1981, it operated under the name PTTK Regional Museum; in the same year it was nationalized. In 1986, the museum's collections were transferred to a historic granary from the 18th century. The official opening of the facility in the new headquarters took place in September 1987. In the years 1994–1998 the museum took over the historic castle and park complex with the courtyard. In 1999, the facility was taken over by the self-government of the Lubaczów poviat. In 2004, the unit's name was changed to the Kresy Museum in Lubaczów. In 2010, the museum took over as its branch a complex of buildings of the church of St. Paraskewy in Radruż. Currently, as part of the permanent exhibitions, the museum presents historical collections, covering the history of the city and Lubaczów land, from the earliest times to the end of the 20th century (John Paul II's visit to Lubaczów in 1991 ethnographic, showing the folk culture of the city and the surrounding area (craft, everyday objects, handicrafts), art, including the collection of Sarmatian portrait painting (representative and epitaph portrait) and borderland culture - religious painting and sculpture, associated with Catholic, Greek Catholic and Judaism rites. In addition, the facility has a collection of Polish contemporary art (drawing) , artists such as Maria Jarema, Erna Rosenstein, Zdzisław Beksiński, Jacek Waltoś, Kazimierz Mikulski, Teresa Pągowska.
