Address: Trzcinica 646 , 38-207 Przysieki Trzcinica
This place, shrouded in legends, has been called the "King's Wall" for centuries. It is located just above the flat bottom of the Ropa River valley. A hill with a hillfort with very steep slopes, sloping 20-40º rises almost 30 m above the surrounding valley on three sides. The stand is one of the most important archaeological monuments in Poland. It is entered in the register of monuments. At the beginning of the 18th century, three pagan idols were discovered here. Researchers of antiquity paid special attention to this place as early as in the 19th century, and excavations were carried out here many times in the 20th century. The first professional research was carried out here by the Carpathian Archaeological Expedition led by A. Żaki in 1957. In 1958 and 1962, archaeologist A. Kunysz conducted excavations here. The existence of an early medieval stronghold was confirmed and monuments were discovered that date back to other prehistoric periods. Later, the presence of fragments of ceramics from the Mierzanowice culture among them was stated by M. Parczewski, and the cultures by Ottomani-Füzesabony J. Gancarski. Trzcinica's fame and excellent scientific results were brought by research conducted by J. Gancarski in 1991-1998, 2005-2009. They covered a total of over 20 ares of the object's surface and were interdisciplinary. It is an object of special historical and cultural value. The natural inaccessibility protected him from destruction. The oldest defensive settlements of the time known in Poland were discovered here and the first traces of the influence of the Anatolian-Balkan civilization on Polish territories were found. It is also one of the oldest and best preserved Slavic strongholds (770-1031 A.D.) covering almost 3.5 ha. The defensive ramparts from the base of the embankments reach today up to 10 m in height. In the early Bronze Age, a fortified settlement was built here. It was defended by a wood and earth embankment with a palisade, palisade, moat and the steep slopes. The population of the Pleszów culture group in Mierzanowice (2100-1650 B.C.) lived in it, under strong Transcarpathian influence. Then in the years 1650-1350 B.C. the Transcarpathian population of the Ottomani-Füzesabony culture lived here, with a very high level of civilization. She built a road and an entrance gate to the stronghold, strengthened the fortifications, and after their fire, rebuilt the fortifications and enlarged the settlement to an area of almost 2 ha, protecting it with a palisade and a moat from the side of the easiest access. At this time we meet here cultural influences coming from the great Mediterranean civilizations, but also from the north influences of the Ruthenian culture. There was a significant pre-culture center here. In the early Middle Ages (780-1031 AD) there was a center of local power here, and a huge, multi-part stronghold occupied over 3 ha of embanked area with a total length of 1250 m. The fortifications of the castle in Trzcinica were the great engineering structures of our ancestors.
