The first confirmed mention of Tuszów comes from around 1470, when Jan Długosz wrote that the royal village of Tuszów belonged to the parish in Chorzel. On May 20, 1881, general Władysław Sikorski was born in Tuszów Narodowy. Currently there is a museum dedicated to his memory and a monument to the general.
