The Podkarpackie Museum in Krosno is one of the most interesting museum institutions not only in Podkarpackie, but on a national scale. It is famous for the largest collection of kerosene lamps in Europe. His headquarters is located in the historic old town, in the former Episcopal Palace. The idea of creating a museum here dates back to the beginning of the century, but the plans of many excellent Krosno residents and city authorities often crossed the war experience of the 20th century. It was only after World War II that the original intentions were returned. In 1950, the Krosno branch of the Polish Tourism and Sightseeing Society took the initiative to create the Museum. Three years later, the city authorities made available to the Museum rooms in the Bishop's Palace. The official date of the establishment of the Krosno Museum is July 22, 1954. Since 2000 it has been changed to the Podkarpackie Museum in Krosno. The branch of the Museum is the Archaeological Museum of the Carpathian Troja in Trzcinica, which opened on June 24-26, 2011. On May 31, 2014, the Viewing Platform was opened, which stood over the Wały Królewskie fort in Trzcinica. We hope that, like the other attractions of the Skansen, it will become an important place on the map of Podkarpackie. You're welcome!
